Educational Consultation
Public and private schools, families, state agencies, mental health facilities, and hospitals from across the country engage Milestones’ Consulting services to help students who are struggling or not gaining maximum benefit from their current educational programming.
Milestones offers a variety of consulting models and employs highly skilled experts who can evaluate a child and create interventions that can be implemented THAT DAY!
A Consultation has Four Steps
- Evaluate the student (Record Review, Phone Conversations, Behavioral Observation, Formal Evaluation, Data Collection)
- In-depth analysis of information (based upon evaluation and data collection determine why the student is having difficulty)
- Determine and create treatment plan
- Train all members who will be implementing the treatment plan
Consultation Types
Consulting to existing programs:
- As public schools grow increasingly aware of students with special needs, many public schools opt to house a substantially separate program in district. Milestones works collaboratively with the school's special education director to determine programmatic needs, evaluate students, and design programs based upon individual student's needs. Milestones specializes in designing programs that compete with out-of-district placements and are cost effective. It is often the case that several students in the same district share similar issues. Rather than sending each child to a costly out-of-district placement, many schools opt to build their own intensive program. These programs are comprehensive, can offer quality programming, and can foster intensive skill building in short periods of time.
Consulting to assist with transition and integration:
- Milestones staff can provide training on transition planning or positively integrating children with special needs into mainstream settings.
Consultation Costs
- Initial Evaluation: $ 750.00
- Hourly Consultation Rate: $115.00/hr
