What services are included during summer session?

  • Group speech & group occupational therapies

What is the student to staff ratio?

  • 3:1 is the ratio with a maximum of 12 children in each group.

Is there parent involvement?

  • YES! We welcome parents to visit, and also welcome them to accompany us on field trips and swimming days (summer session only). Parents are always
    welcome.

Do you accept siblings as models in your program?

  • Siblings are accepted into our summer program as peer models.

May my child’s sibling(s) stay in the waiting area during
after school sessions?

  • YES. Milestones has an exciting waiting room and separate quiet area
    for reading/homework for siblings of all ages, so long as they are
    accompanied by an parent or guardian.

Do you provide measurable goals?

  • Each group has their own collaborative goals and each child has additional individual goals. Our goals are based upon social skills, executive functioning, coping skills (sensory skills), and self-esteem. Goals are measured through formal and informal processes including observation and data collection. For families with a student enrolled in one or more of our summer sessions, parents can log on to the student’s private webpage and check on their child’s progress. Additionally, at the end of the summer you will receive a detailed report about your child’s goals and progress.

How are the children transported to / from field trips during summer session?

  • We provide bus service for all outings. Accompanying parents may travel on our buses if space allows.

Do you provide additional services upon request?

  • YES! We provide additional services upon request including:
    • Speech Therapy
    • Occupational Therapy
    • Physical Therapy
    • Psychological Counseling
    • Academic Tutoring (including Wilson Reading)

Who directs the program?

  • The program is directed by Alex Michaels, Executive Director of Milestones.

Who provides transportation to and from our program?

  • Transportation is provided by families (or family carpool) or as
    stipulated in your child’s IEP.

How many weeks may my child attend your sessions?

  • Our summer sessions runs for six weeks, in three two-week cycles. Each cycle is different and the curriculum does not repeat, therefore children may attend all six weeks. Our fall sessions run in eight week cycles.

Can my child's teachers/therapists visit during sessions?

  • Absolutely! We encourage visits. To schedule a visit to our program, please contact our main office at 781-895-3200.
  • Year-round groups

Is there swimming during summer session?

  • Once a week we go swimming at a nearby facility.
